Free Live Music in Ibiza This Week: Blues Bars, Tango Nights and a Rock Train (6-12 October 2026)

Everyone says Ibiza empties out in October. Then you find a five-woman rock band in a Sant Josep tavern and a festival built around a train. Here are more than twenty concerts between 6 and 12 October 2026 - blues, tango, Irish folk, chamber music and a Queen tribute - and almost all of them are free.

The clubs are shutting their doors one by one, the airport queue takes ten minutes instead of an hour, and if you believe the internet, Ibiza in October is a ghost town. The internet is wrong. Free live music in Ibiza does not stop when the season ends - it simply moves inland. It relocates to village taverns, restaurant courtyards, a beach shack at the quiet end of Platja d'en Bossa, and a small seafront auditorium in Cala de Bou that most visitors have never heard of.

Between 6 and 12 October 2026 there are more than twenty concerts on the island, and the overwhelming majority of them cost nothing at all. This is the Ibiza that locals quietly keep for themselves: a blues band on a Thursday evening at a roadside bar near Sant Josep, a tango duo on a restaurant terrace, Irish fiddles in a stone courtyard, and on Saturday an entire festival built around a train that crawls from bar to bar. Here is where to be.

Tuesday and Wednesday: sand underfoot, sunset in your eyes

Start gently. On Tuesday 6 October, Moe plays live on the sand at Chiringuito Cala Escondida from 18:30 - free, barefoot, with the sea doing the backing vocals. It is the kind of gig where nobody checks a guest list because there is no guest list. Over on the Sant Antoni side, Cafe del Mar runs Sunset Session #188 from 18:00, also free, and Cafe Mambo hosts Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago from 21:00 with no cover charge. Saxophone over the bay, a drink in hand, and roughly a tenth of the August crowd.

Wednesday 7 October is the week's breather. The two things worth knowing about are both free and both tied to World Mental Health Day: a talk evening, Talking Saves Lives, hosted by APFEM at Teatro Pereyra in Ibiza Town from 18:00, and a screening of the documentary Donde brotamos at Teatro Espana in Santa Eulalia from 19:00. If you would rather move than sit, the weekly Group Social Trail Run sets off at 09:00 for four euros, with the route changing every week.

Thursday: the island's best gig is in a roadside blues bar

If you only go out once this week, make it Thursday. Can Jordi Blues Station, a low stone building at kilometre 7 of the Sant Josep road, has been Ibiza's unofficial music clubhouse for decades. At 19:00 the band Crossroad returns to its stage - Maria Lejarza Sanchez on vocals, Joaquin Fernandez Duchowny on lead guitar, Laurent Barot on bass and Vicente Clemente on drums - running through blues, rock and pop. Free entry. Get there early; the place is small and the regulars know it.

Thursday is stacked beyond that. At Cas Costas in Sant Jordi, the weekly music night is handed over to tango, with the duo Mano a Mano (Elio Crispo and Claudio Cesar) from 20:00. At Tribu Ibiza in Cala de Bou, Los del Varadero bring a night of rumba and pop from 20:00. The duo Anna and Ainvar play pop and rock covers in the courtyard of Raco Verd in Sant Josep from 20:30. Earlier in the evening, The Soul Connectors with Matteo Crocetti are back on the sand at Cala Escondida from 18:30. Every single one of those is free.

There is one worth paying for. At Auditori Calo de s'Oli in Cala de Bou, the Ibiza String Ensemble performs at 20:30 to open Transiciones - Vacio, aquel lugar que lo precede todo, an exhibition of paintings by Cesar Sanchez. It is free too, and it is the opening salvo of the Cala de Bou and Port des Torrent village fiestas, which run all weekend. If you want a proper ticketed show instead, Pepe y Vizio play Las Dalias in San Carlos at 20:00, from 25 euros.

Friday: five-piece rock, chamber music and a village throwing a party

Friday 9 October splits neatly into two moods. For the loud one, head to Can Bernat Vinya, the tavern in the middle of Sant Josep village, where every Friday night means live music. This week it is Dea Tanit, a five-woman band with a deep repertoire of rock, blues, soul and funk covers spanning several decades, from 21:00 and free.

For the quiet one, Teatre Can Ventosa on Carrer Ignaci Wallis in Ibiza Town presents Sonatas and Songs, an evening of chamber music by the composer Miquel Angel Roig-Francoli, at 20:30. Free, seated, and a genuinely lovely way to spend ninety minutes.

In between there is jazz with singer-pianist Abby Pianoman at Clab in Cala de Bou from 20:30, a free rooftop session at the Tomorrowland Store in Ibiza Town from 19:00, and - the real event of the evening - the official opening of the Cala de Bou fiestas at 20:00. The pregon is delivered by the Asociacion de Mujeres de Cala de Bou, followed by a concert from the duo A Mi Aire under the marquee. Village fiestas in Ibiza are the real thing: plastic chairs, grandmothers, kids running loose, and absolutely nobody filming it for social media.

Saturday: the rock train, and why free live music in Ibiza peaks this weekend

Saturday 10 October belongs to the Cala de Bou Express. The concept is beautifully daft: a train tours the bars of Cala de Bou, stopping wherever live music is playing, with cheap beer and tapas at every halt. Past editions have pulled more than 4,000 people. It kicks off at 13:00, it is organised with Garufa Sound, and it is free to join. Bring comfortable shoes and low expectations about staying on schedule.

Around it, the island is full. The Soul Connectors return to Can Jordi Blues Station at 13:00 with the full band - Saturday lunchtimes there are an institution. The 3 Wise Monkeys play rock and roll at El Kiosko in Cala de Bou from 18:00. Barahmji and Medusa Odyssey close their season at Sunset Cala Conta from 19:00, which is about as good as a west-coast sunset soundtrack gets. 2Phazz, with Johan Speiss and Julien Catonne, take the terrace at Cas Mestre from 20:00. The Moonshine Trio bring Irish music to the Raco Verd courtyard at 20:30. And the whole weekend lands with Queen Forever Tribute at Auditori Calo de s'Oli at 21:00, closing out the Cala de Bou Express. All free.

Sunday 11 October winds down with International Friends of Museums Day at MACE in Dalt Vila from 10:30, free entry and well worth the climb.

How to actually do a free live music week in Ibiza

A few things learned the hard way. You need a car. Can Jordi, Can Bernat Vinya, Cas Costas and Raco Verd sit on back roads in the Sant Josep municipality, and the bus network effectively clocks off in the evening. Share a taxi if you are drinking.

Order something. None of these venues charge entry because the music is paid for by the kitchen and the bar. Have dinner where you listen - the food at Can Jordi and Raco Verd is reason enough on its own.

Arrive early. Free gigs at small venues fill up with people who live here, and they turn up on time. Half an hour before the advertised start is about right.

Bring a layer. October evenings on the island slide towards 17 or 18 degrees once the sun goes, and a courtyard in Sant Josep at 22:00 is not the same climate as a beach at 18:00.

Line-ups at village venues shift at short notice, so check before you drive. The full, updated agenda for every one of these nights lives on the ibiza-calendar.com events calendar - filter by live music and you will find the island is a great deal louder in October than anyone told you.
