Ibiza is much more than nightclubs. Away from the club circuit there are coves, boat trips, caves, markets, village festivals, museums and wellness retreats, and in autumn, once the party season closes, that quieter side of the island takes centre stage. This guide gathers plans with confirmed dates in our calendar for enjoying Ibiza without setting foot in a club.

Ibiza from the sea
Boat trips are the best way to see the coast without the crowds: out to Es Vedrà, the island's most photographed islet, to coves such as Cala Salada, or across to Formentera for the day. In October the sea is still warm and the boats are far quieter than in August.
Caves, villages and markets
Can Marçà Cave in Port de Sant Miquel, a former smugglers' hideout, is visited on a guided tour of about 40 minutes. Bus tours combine inland villages with the hippy market, and in autumn the village festivals (Santa Teresa in Es Cubells, Sant Carles in November) show traditional Ibiza with folk dancing and open-air parties.
Wellbeing and slow living
Sunrise yoga, retreats and gatherings such as the Ibiza Wellness Weekend (16–18 October) are the island's other face. The north (Sant Joan, Sant Miquel, Sant Carles) has most of the wellness offer and the most rural landscapes.
Culture
Dalt Vila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be explored on foot in a morning, and museums such as MACE and Museu Puget have free exhibitions this autumn. For more indoor ideas, see what to do in Ibiza when it rains.
Frequently asked questions
Can you enjoy Ibiza without partying? Yes. The island has a large rural interior, dozens of coves, walking routes, boat trips, museums and village festivals. Many visitors never set foot in a club.
Which part of Ibiza is best to avoid the party scene? The north and east (Sant Joan, Sant Carles, Santa Eulària) are the quietest. Sant Antoni and Platja d'en Bossa are where the nightlife is.
When is the best time to visit Ibiza if you're not into partying? Spring and autumn: good weather, a warm sea in September and October, fewer people and lower prices.
Are there plans for families? Yes: boat trips, Can Marçà Cave, fairs such as the Fira de la Sal and village festivals. More ideas in our Ibiza with kids guide.
