Ibiza in early October is a different island from the one that greeted you in July. The sea is still warm enough to swim, the light has turned golden, and the calendar has quietly shifted from headline DJs to something far more local: open-air concerts, folk dance, regattas, free markets and a classical season that is only just getting started. If you are looking for Ibiza events this week, here is where the island will be between Saturday 3 and Friday 9 October 2026.
Saturday 3 October: The Island's Busiest Day
Saturday is the big one, and it starts early. At the Recinto Ferial in Ibiza Town, the COBRA RACE Ibiza hybrid obstacle competition returns for its second edition from 8:00, while across the water the Triathlon Illa de Formentera sets off from Es Pujols. If you would rather watch than sweat, the Trofeo Familia Mari Mayans sailing regatta fills the bay of Eivissa on 3 and 4 October, one of the classic fixtures of the autumn nautical calendar.
Markets are the other morning staple. Las Dalias Hippy Market in Sant Carles keeps its Saturday opening into October and November, with more than 200 stalls of handmade clothing and one-off objects. The Mercadillo artesanal de Sant Josep runs through 31 October with around 53 stalls of countryside produce and crafts, and the Mercat de Sant Josep closes its season today with a set from Sean Fearon, the Irish singer who has lived on the island for more than forty years. It is free, it is friendly, and it will not be back until next year.
At midday the Passeig de Vara de Rey hosts the Concurso de Tortilla Española, with live music from La Verbenita. Bring an appetite; this is the most Ibizan way imaginable to spend a Saturday lunchtime.
Sonorama Ribera Goes to Ibiza: Two Days of Indie by the Sea
Spain's much-loved Sonorama festival brings its music-and-gastronomy format to Cala de Bou on 2 and 3 October. Friday's activities are free; Saturday is the main day, with the programme at Venice Bay running from Anabel Lee at 17:00 through Peter Colours (18:05), Anni B Sweet in an acoustic set (19:15), Statuas d'Sal (20:30), Tu Otra Bonita (21:45) and Marlena at 23:00. There will be food trucks and bars throughout, and tickets for the day start from around €30.
Earlier on Saturday, Fermín Bouza performs his Bob Dylan tribute, Bouza vs Dylan, at the Cinerama of the Hotel Grand Paradiso from 13:00. It is a rare chance to hear Spanish-language indie meet American folk in an intimate room.
Beach Clubs and Sunset Sessions
The beaches are not done yet. Tanit Beach in Playa d'en Bossa hosts its own Oktoberfest from 13:00 on Saturday, with German food, beer, music and a prize for the best costume. As the sun drops over San Antonio bay, Café Mambo hosts the Saturday Masquerade pre-party with Claptone. Over at Playa Soleil, Crême de Crême starts at 17:00 (tickets from about €20), and the closing programmes at Cova Santa continue, including the PIV Ibiza Tuesdays Grand Closing on 6 October and Sunwaves' closing at Playa Soleil on 7 October.
If you prefer your Saturday nights with a Caribbean accent, the Ibiza Soca Festival continues at Eden with its second day, part of five days of Soca that run until 5 October. Sunday evening, meanwhile, belongs to Sundays at Pikes, free from 21:00 with Chez Damier, Dave Seaman, Il Bosco and Steve Parry on the bill.
The Quieter Side: Music, Dance and Culture
This is where early October really shines. On Saturday evening you could catch:
- Eivissa Clàssica opening its 2026 season at the Teatre Can Ventosa at 20:30 with Spiritillo Mediterraneo, a baroque programme linking Italy and Spain (tickets from €8).
- The III Festival Balansat Balla at 18:30, a free folk-dance festival of ball pagès groups as part of Sant Miquel's fiestas.
- Lana, a contemporary dance piece from the Consell d'Eivissa's dance season, at Cas Serres at 20:00 (€8).
- A free Cineforum Eivissa screening of Pulp Fiction in original version with a post-film discussion at 18:00.
- Live rumba from Soniquete at Cas Mestre and a classical-meets-electronic set from Clün at Racó Verd, both free.
Café Pereyra keeps the late-night Latin theme going: Soul Brasil on Friday and Cuban band Asere Son on Saturday from 23:30, both with free entry.
On Sunday, the choral series Eivissa Canta performs at Sa Peixateria at noon, the Banda Ciutat d'Eivissa plays a free open-air concert at Plaça Bob Marley at 18:00, and flamenco group Querencia takes over the terrace at Tribu in Cala de Bou at sunset. Cala de Bou's El Kiosco also restarts its concert programme with the duo Rick & Carly.
Midweek Highlights, 5–9 October
The week calms down after Sunday, but there is plenty to do. On Monday, the Biblioteca Pública Insular starts a free five-day creative writing workshop at Cas Serres. Tuesday brings saxophone at Café Mambo with Lovely Laura & Ben Santiago from 21:00, free, and the Grand Closing night at Cova Santa. On Wednesday 7 October, APFEM marks World Mental Health Day at Teatro Pereyra at 18:00 with a free film and talk, while a documentary screening, Donde brotamos, takes place at Teatro España. The Group Social Trail Run also meets that morning at 9:00 for a sociable run through pine forest and coastal paths. Sailors can look ahead to the Jornades Nàutiques Pitiüses cruiser regatta linking Ibiza, Formentera and Sant Antoni from Friday 9 October.
Practical Tips for the Week
- Check before you go. Many October events are free but have limited space, and some venues change start times at short notice. Use the Ibiza Calendar listings to confirm.
- Book classical and dance nights. Small venues like Can Ventosa and Cas Serres sell out earlier than you might think.
- Pack a layer. Evenings by the sea can be breezy by 21:00, especially on terraces in Cala de Bou and San Antonio.
- Use the daytime. With ferries to Formentera and boat trips still running, you can swim in the morning and catch a concert at night.
- Go local at lunch. Markets and the tortilla contest are the best free introductions to island life.
