What's On in Ibiza This Week: Running, Gastronomy & Live Music (March 13–19)

March in Ibiza is magic — the crowds haven't arrived yet, the island is alive with local culture, and there's genuinely loads to do. Here's your insider guide to the best events happening right now.

There's a certain kind of person who'll tell you Ibiza is only good in summer. Those people are wrong. March on this island is one of my favourite times of the year — the light is golden, the roads are empty, the restaurants are happy to see you, and the events calendar is quietly bursting with life. Let me walk you through what's happening this week.

Run the Island: Cursa de Passeig a Passeig — Saturday, March 15

If you're in Ibiza this weekend and have legs, there's really no excuse to miss the Cursa de Passeig a Passeig. This is one of the most beloved local sporting events of the year — a 15 km route connecting Ibiza Town to Santa Eulalia along the scenic coastal path. And the beauty of it? You don't have to run. You can skate the full distance or join the relaxed (non-competitive) cycling group.

It's genuinely open to all ages and abilities. I've seen grandparents walking it and teenagers bombing it on inline skates. The atmosphere is festive, the route is gorgeous, and at the end there's that satisfied feeling of having done something properly Ibicenco. If you're visiting with family, this is a brilliant Saturday morning activity before a long, lazy lunch in Santa Eulalia.

Feast on UNESCO-Inspired Menus: Patrimoni Gastronòmic

Running throughout March in Ibiza Town, the Patrimoni Gastronòmic contest is one of those quietly brilliant local initiatives that deserves way more attention than it gets from tourists. Local restaurants are creating themed tasting menus that pay homage to cities around the world that — like Ibiza — have been awarded UNESCO World Heritage status.

The fixed price is €30 per person, which for Ibiza is genuinely excellent value, especially when you consider the creativity that goes into these menus. Think dishes inspired by the medinas of Marrakech, the historic quarters of Havana, the old city of Dubrovnik. It's a culinary world tour without leaving our little island. I'd recommend booking ahead because the more popular spots fill up fast — just ask around in Ibiza Town and you'll find the participating restaurants easily.

Fira des Gerret in Santa Eulalia: A Local Fish Festival

Santa Eulalia is doing its thing this month with the annual Fira des Gerret, a celebration of the gerret — a small, locally caught fish that Ibicencos have been eating and loving forever. The festival takes over Calle San Jaime, turning it into a lively open-air hub where bars and restaurants compete to create the best gerret-based dish.

There's live music, street food stalls, locals catching up with neighbours they haven't seen since last summer — it's exactly the kind of event that reminds you why people actually live here, not just visit. If you want to eat like an Ibicenco, this is your chance.

Multi-Cultural Arts Festival: March 15–21

A fascinating multi-cultural festival kicks off this weekend and runs Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from March 15–21, starting at 19:00. The programme covers literature, poetry, cinema, and humour — a proper arts event with an emphasis on new voices and new narratives. It's the kind of thing that would cost you a fortune in Barcelona or Madrid; here you can wander in and discover something unexpected.

I won't pretend I know exactly what I'll find until I get there, but that's part of the appeal. Check the local Ibiza Spotlight calendar for the full programme and venues.

Cicle Dies Musicals: The Concerts Keep Coming

We wrote about this last week, but it's worth mentioning again because it's just so good: the Cicle Dies Musicals continues every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until May 17, bringing intimate live concerts to venues scattered across the island's municipalities.

These aren't big commercial concerts — they're intimate performances in beautiful, often unexpected spaces. Classical, jazz, world music, Catalan folk. If you haven't caught one yet, this week is a perfect opportunity. Keep an eye on the programme because the venues rotate and some are genuinely special.

Weekly Guided Walks: Every Wednesday

Every Wednesday, guided walks explore Ibiza's natural landscapes and historical corners. March is arguably the best time for walking on the island — the wildflowers are out, the heat is gentle, and you'll have the trails almost entirely to yourself. If you've only ever seen Ibiza from a sun lounger or a nightclub, a Wednesday morning walk will genuinely change how you see the place.

Looking Ahead: The Season Is Coming

While we're living our best pre-season life, the big clubs are quietly finalising their 2026 plans. Amnesia, Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa and Ibiza Rocks have all announced their opening parties, and Defected has confirmed its Defected Forever Chinois Ibiza residency on Thursday nights at Ibiza Marina. Pukka Up sunset boat parties are also confirmed for three sailings a week this summer.

None of that is happening yet — and honestly, that's fine. This week in Ibiza is about running along the coast, eating excellent fish, discovering local art, and remembering that the island is so much more than its summer reputation.

Whatever you get up to, enjoy it. This week's weather looks kind. See you out there.
