There's something special about Ibiza in March. The tourists haven't arrived in force yet, the air still carries that crisp Mediterranean freshness, and the island's real community — the artists, the healers, the music lovers, the hikers — has the place pretty much to itself. And this weekend? It happens to coincide with the Spring Equinox on Friday, March 20. For anyone who knows Ibiza, you already know what that means.
This island has always had a deep, almost spiritual relationship with the changing of seasons. Long before the clubs, before the superstar DJs and the bottle service, Ibiza was a place where people came to reset, reconnect, and feel something real. This weekend delivers exactly that — alongside some excellent parties, beautiful music, and more than a few reasons to linger over a glass of hierbas.
Friday, March 20 — Keep On Dancing at Teatro Pereyra
If you're in Ibiza Town on Friday evening, there's really only one place to be. Keep On Dancing returns to the iconic Pereyra Theater for another edition of their beloved pre-season party — and this time, they've set up two rooms to make sure you don't have to choose between vibes.
Teatro Pereyra is one of those venues that never gets old. Tucked into the heart of Ibiza Town, it has this incredible energy — part theatre, part club, all soul. The crowd is always a beautiful mix of locals, long-term residents, and those in-the-know visitors who discovered Ibiza beyond the tourist brochure. Doors open in the evening; expect things to get properly going from around 23:00. Dress comfortably, bring your dance shoes, and don't leave too early — the second room tends to be where the real magic happens.
Saturday, March 21 — Ecstatic Dance Spring Awakening at the Hipódromo
For something a little more... transformative, head to the Hipódromo de San Rafael on Saturday evening for Ecstatic Dance Ibiza's Spring Awakening session. Running from 19:00 to 22:30, this is one of those experiences that's genuinely hard to describe to someone who hasn't done it before.
DJ Moon will be guiding the journey — a carefully curated musical arc that takes you from stillness through movement and into something approaching collective euphoria. No alcohol, no phones on the dance floor, no judgment. Just bodies moving freely in a space that feels genuinely safe. If you've been in Ibiza for a while and never tried ecstatic dance, this Spring Equinox edition is the perfect entry point. The spring energy makes the whole thing feel electric.
Doors open at 19:00. The venue is indoors, which is ideal for an evening event at this time of year. Booking in advance is strongly recommended — these sessions sell out.
Also Saturday — Soul Journey: Angelic Reiki & Sound Bath
The Spring Equinox theme continues on Saturday with a Soul Journey session combining Angelic Reiki and a Sound Bath — a perfect way to mark the shift into spring and set intentions for the new season. Ibiza has always attracted practitioners working at a high level in the wellness and healing arts, and events like this are a reminder of why so many people choose to build their lives here rather than just visit.
Details on timing and location are best confirmed directly — check the Ibiza Spotlight listings or search for the event on social media. These intimate sessions fill up fast.
All Weekend — Cicle Dies Musicals 2026
Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from now until mid-May, Cicle Dies Musicals brings live performances to venues scattered across the island's municipalities. This is one of the most underrated events on the Ibiza calendar, in my opinion.
Sixteen intimate concerts spanning classical, pop, jazz, and everything in between — performed in settings that range from historic churches to village squares. The performances start at 19:00, last around 90 minutes, and create exactly the kind of cultural experience that reminds you Ibiza is a real, living island with real artistic roots. Check the full programme and venues at the official Consell d'Eivissa listings. Tickets are usually very affordable or free.
Don't Forget: Pintxa San Antonio (Thursday Tapas Route)
Okay, Thursday technically isn't this weekend — but if you haven't done the Pintxa San Antonio tapas route yet this year, you're running out of time. Every Thursday until April 2, from 19:00, around 20 local bars and restaurants in San Antonio participate in this beloved annual event. For a fixed price per pintxo, you work your way around the old town, discovering hidden spots and brilliant local bites.
San Antonio gets unfairly written off by people who only know the West End. The old town around the port and the church is genuinely lovely, and Pintxa night transforms it into a buzzing, friendly street celebration that's 100% local. Don't miss the last few editions this season.
Sunday — Guided Nature Hike
Round off your weekend with a guided hike through the Ibizan countryside. Every Sunday, organized walks explore the island's quieter corners — pine forests, ancient salt flats, coastal paths with views that make you question why you ever lived anywhere else.
March is genuinely one of the best months to hike in Ibiza. The wildflowers are starting to bloom, the air is clear, and the trails are quiet. Check local Facebook groups or the Ibiza Spotlight activities section for this weekend's specific route and meeting point. Groups are friendly, all levels are welcome, and there's usually a cold beer or coffee waiting at the end.
The Bigger Picture: It's Pre-Season, and That's a Gift
Every year around this time, I have the same conversation with friends visiting Ibiza for the first time in March or April. They arrive expecting one thing and find something entirely different — and almost without exception, they fall harder for this version of the island than they ever expected.
Pre-season Ibiza is the island at its most genuine. Restaurants have time for you. The beaches are yours. Parking — yes, actual parking — exists. The people you meet are here because they genuinely want to be here, not because a package deal landed them at the airport. And events like the ones this weekend — Keep On Dancing, Ecstatic Dance, the Cicle Dies Musicals, Pintxa San Antonio — these are the heartbeat of the island year-round, not just the warm-up act for summer.
Whatever you do this weekend, get outside, say hello to the sun (it's the equinox — it deserves a greeting), and let Ibiza do what it does best.
