If you are looking for things to do in Ibiza this weekend, October 2026 hands you something rare: an island exhaling. The summer crowds have thinned, the light has turned honey-gold, and almost every venue is marking the end of its season with a final concert, a closing party or a free fair. Between Thursday 15 and Sunday 18 October there are last sunsets to catch, salt pans to wander, a mountain road to watch cars race up and a retrospective of one of Ibiza's best-loved painters. Here is how to make the most of it.

Last Sunsets on the West Coast

The west coast is where Ibiza says goodbye best. Sunset Cala Conta (the venue many islanders still remember as Sunset Ashram) closes its live-music calendar on Friday 16 October at 19:00, when Reya Thomas & The Groove Machine play the final concert of the season above the turquoise water of Platges de Comte. Entry is free, so arrive early for a spot on the terrace and bring a light jacket, because the temperature drops quickly once the sun disappears behind Es Vedrà and the islets.

Prefer the town? Café del Mar in Sant Antoni keeps its nightly Sunset Sessions going (session #198 on Friday), with resident DJs playing the ambient, Balearic sound the bar has been known for since 1980. The terrace is free to enter and open from 17:00, and the sunset starts from around 18:00 at this time of year, so this is a genuinely easy plan.

If you would rather watch from the water, boat operators are still running daily departures. Sunset cruises from San Antonio head past Cala Bassa, Cala Conta and Cala Tarida towards Es Vedrà, and the October sea is calm and still pleasantly swimmable at midday.

Final Concerts and Live Music Nights

Sant Josep's live-music programme winds down this weekend, and the closing nights are among the nicest of the year. On Friday evening Bluesmàfia close the concert calendar in the garden of Can Bernat Vinya, a century-old tavern that is one of the most atmospheric spaces in the municipality (21:00, free). In Cala de Bou, Clab hosts jazz singer and pianist Abby Pianoman from 20:30, and the Coral Star Apartments welcome the band Music 4 Life for a soul, rock and pop set at 21:00, open to non-guests too.

Jazz fans should not miss Jazz Point Ibiza at The Standard. Day two on Friday brings "The Guitar Masters" with Romero Lubambo and Norberto Rodríguez on the UP rooftop at 14:30, followed at 21:00 by "The Trumpet Masters" with the Michael Cruse Quintet at JARA restaurant. Both sessions are free.

On the beach, Zazú Ibiza in Playa d'en Bossa wraps up its 2026 season on Thursday 15 October with a free closing set from DJ Romayor from 13:00, a good option if you want one last barefoot afternoon by the sea.

Salt Pans, Fairs and Wellness: Ibiza's Quiet-Season Treats

The big daytime draw is the X Fira de la Sal (Ibiza Salt Fair), held from 16 to 18 October around Sant Jordi and the Ses Salines Natural Park. This tenth edition celebrates the island's centuries-old salt trade with demonstrations of traditional salt harvesting, guided tours of the park, local food, crafts and folk dancing. It is free, family-friendly and set in one of the most photogenic landscapes on the island. October is also a fine month for flamingos on the pans, so bring binoculars.

Combine it with the Mercadillo de Sant Jordi on Saturday morning (from 08:00), the island's most authentic flea market, full of second-hand finds, antiques and vintage clothes.

For something calmer, the 7th Ibiza Wellness Weekend runs from 16 to 18 October across Sant Joan de Labritja and Santa Eulària, with workshops, talks and tasting sessions (tickets from around €70). On Friday morning you can also join the wellness mornings at Petunia Ibiza in Cala Carbó, with yoga, animal flow and sound healing from €20.

Culture, Markets and a Mountain Road

Art lovers have a strong reason to head to Ibiza Town. The Picarol retrospective at Sa Nostra Sala marks 150 years since the birth of Josep Costa Ferrer, with 66 works, historical documents and accompanying lectures. It is free and runs until 14 November. Also free, Juntas, a joint exhibition by Renate and Annabelle Widmann at Club Diario de Ibiza, opens on 16 October and runs to the 30th. On Saturday you can add a theatrical visit to Dalt Vila, a lively way to learn about Renaissance Ibiza inside the UNESCO-listed walls.

On Friday morning, Mercat de Sa Cooperativa in Santa Eulària is the place for local fruit, vegetables, cheese, wine and crafts from island producers. And if engines are your thing, the annual Pujada a Sa Cala hill climb takes over the roads around Cala Sant Vicent from 16 to 18 October, with practice runs followed by the main races. Spectating is free.

Practical Tips for the Weekend

  • Check times locally. Several venues close for the winter right after this weekend, and schedules can shift, so confirm opening hours the day before.
  • Pack layers. Daytime is warm, but evenings by the coast can feel cool once the sun is down.
  • Getting around. Parking near Cala Conta and the Salt Fair fills up on sunny days. Arrive early or use the island's bus network.
  • Book ahead for the Wellness Weekend and any boat trips. Most concerts and fairs listed here are free to attend.
  • Go slow. This is the season to linger over lunch, take the long way round and enjoy the Ibiza that locals love.

Whatever you choose, this last weekend of the season is a lovely reminder that the island has far more to offer than summer headlines suggest. Browse the full listings on Ibiza Calendar to plan your days, and check back next week for what is coming up as Ibiza settles into autumn.
