Poolside Sessions in San Antonio
The west-coast pool parties are the heartbeat of Ibiza's daytime scene, and this week is a strong one. O Beach Ibiza runs a different flavour of party almost every day: catch House in Paradise on Wednesday (from 13:00, €25–35) for feel-good house with the venue's M3 live-musician show, Soul Heaven on Saturday, and the long-running SIN Sundays on 2 August with a stacked resident line-up and live sax from Ellie Sax. Expect dancers, pyrotechnics over the pool, and a party that peaks in the afternoon sun.
A five-minute walk away, Ibiza Rocks turns its famous pool into a stage. The midweek Bingo Brunch (Wednesday and again on 5 August, from 14:00, €32–48) is gloriously silly — think crowd-hype hosts, outrageous prizes and a poolside singalong — while Ibiza Anthems on 1 August brings Switch Disco and a live PA from Carla Monroe. Friday's Poolside Sessions pool party is the classic all-rounder if you just want sunshine and big tunes.
Big-Room Open-Air at Ushuaïa
If your idea of a perfect afternoon is a superstar DJ, a giant outdoor stage and a sea of confetti, Playa d'en Bossa is where you need to be. Ushuaïa Ibiza stages its shows in the open air from around 17:00, so you catch the headline sets as the light turns golden.
This week's line-up is genuinely blockbuster. Tomorrowland with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike takes over Wednesday (and 5 August), joined by Steve Aoki. Martin Garrix headlines Thursday 30 July with Afrojack alongside. Calvin Harris plays Friday 31 July (and again on 4 August) with MK in support, ANTS brings its tech-house colony on Saturday 1 August led by Cloonee, Swedish House Mafia land on Sunday 2 August, and David Guetta's F* Me I'm Famous!** closes the week on Monday 3 August with Lost Frequencies. AMÉMÉ's One Tribe at Cova Santa on Thursday 30 July (from 19:00, €32) is one of the season's most talked-about parties — a lush, Afro-house journey in a beautiful open-air garden setting near San José, with Jamiie, LP Giobbi and KILIMANJARO on the bill. Over in Playa d'en Bossa, Sunwaves brings its respected underground programme to Playa Soleil & Bora Bora every Wednesday (from 17:00, €20–30), a quality-over-quantity affair for those who like their electronic music serious. And for a free, low-key golden hour, Beachouse Ibiza's LUNAR: Buck Moon gathering (Wednesday, from 19:00, free entry) pairs its signature menu with sunset DJs and full-moon ritual right on the sand.
How to Do a Daytime Party Right
A little planning turns a good day party into a great one. Arrive early — the best day parties fill up fast, and the atmosphere in the first couple of hours, before the crowd peaks, is often the sweetest. Sun protection is non-negotiable: reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses will save your afternoon, and most venues have shaded areas and day beds you can book ahead.
Stay hydrated between drinks (venues sell water, and it genuinely helps you last the distance), and wear something you can dance in and swim in — poolside means poolside. For getting home, agree a taxi plan or note the bus times before you go in, as ranks get busy when parties empty out. Finally, buy tickets in advance wherever you can; walk-up prices are higher, and the marquee Ushuaïa shows regularly sell out.
