Paddle Surf at Dawn and Dusk: The Quiet Adventure
Not every adventure needs an engine. Stand-up paddleboarding is my personal favourite way to bookend a day here, because it puts you on the water when the sea is glassy and the crowds are still in bed — or already at dinner.
SUP Paradise Ibiza is running two lovely options this week. Their 3-hour Boat Trip with Paddle Surf Lesson and Snorkelling leaves at 10:30 from €75 — you motor out to a calm bay, get a proper lesson, then paddle and snorkel the shallows. The location changes each time, so you get shown corners of the island most visitors never find, alongside people who actually live here. It''s as much a social thing as a workout.
Over in Santa Eulària, the tourist board runs a free Guided Walk along the Cala Llonga Route on Friday 15 August at 19:00. Practical Tips Before You Go
A few things I always tell friends visiting for an active week.
Book ahead. August is peak season and the popular jet ski and buggy slots genuinely sell out days in advance. Reserve online rather than turning up hopeful.
Go early. Morning departures mean cooler temperatures, calmer seas and emptier trails. The 09:30–10:30 window is the sweet spot for almost everything on this list.
Pack smart. Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, water, closed shoes for the land tours, and a waterproof phone pouch for anything on the sea. The Mediterranean sun in August is no joke, especially on open water where the breeze hides how much you''re burning.
Respect the wild bits. Ibiza''s interior and coves are fragile. Stick to the tracks on safaris, take your rubbish with you, and give the seagrass meadows below your paddle board a wide berth — they''re protected, and they''re a big part of why the water is so absurdly clear.
