There's something about the Cicle Dies Musicals that reminds me why I haven't wanted to leave this island in over fifteen years. It's not the music itself—though it's wonderful—but the way it manages to turn Ibiza, every spring, into a concert hall spread across every corner.

This week that magic starts again, and the 2026 program promises to be one of the best in its twelve-year history.

A cycle born from love of local music

The Cicle Dies Musicals (formerly called Dijous Musicals) started in 2013 as an initiative by the Consell d'Eivissa: to bring live music to cultural spaces in municipalities, to bring local talent closer to the neighborhood. Today, twelve editions later, it's one of the most beloved events of the off-season.

This year they received 25 applications from groups and selected 15 concerts, which will be spread between February and May in different venues across the island: from the Auditorio Caló de s'Oli in Cala de Bou to the Centro Sociocultural de Cas Serres, passing through rooms and spaces in Sant Antoni, Santa Eulàlia and other towns.

What I find most beautiful is that at each concert you find lifelong neighbors mixed with people recently arrived. Ibiza being Ibiza: a mix that always works.

The price of culture shouldn't be a luxury

One of the things that makes me happiest about this cycle is the cost of tickets: 2 euros if you buy them in advance online at ticketib.com, or 3.50 euros at the box office. That's all.

On an island where a pastry can cost you more than that, being able to listen to live music for that price is a small miracle. And a statement of intent from the Consell: culture is for everyone, not just for those who can afford a VIP terrace.

What kind of music can you expect?

The cycle has an eclectic philosophy. It's not just jazz, or just classical, or pop. It's a mix that reflects the variety of talents living on these islands: chamber quartets, classical guitarists, Mediterranean folk groups, experimental pop duos... Each performance is a surprise, and that's precisely what makes people come back year after year.

The grand finale of the cycle will be the Andrés Colla & Rob Luft Quartet on May 17 at the Auditorio of the Centro Sociocultural de Cas Serres, a date that already sounds very promising for contemporary jazz lovers.

How to follow the agenda

The concerts are announced in advance. The best way is to:

  • Visit ticketib.com to see dates and buy tickets
  • Keep an eye on posters at your municipality's civic centers
  • Follow the cultural agenda of the Consell d'Eivissa on social media

Each weekend between March 6 and May 17 there will be a new concert somewhere on the island. There are 15 dates in total, so don't sleep on it.

Ibiza beyond the summer

Every time someone tells me that Ibiza is just summer and tourists, I tell them things like this. The Cicle Dies Musicals is the kind of event that brings life to the island's winter and spring, that fills towns you can't even cross in August, and that reminds you there's a real community here, with their interests, their musicians, their spaces.

If you're on the island these weeks, don't miss it. And if you're thinking of coming, maybe this spring is the best time of year to discover the real Ibiza.
