Let's talk money: How much does a week in Ibiza really cost?
There's a myth that has followed Ibiza for years: that it's a destination only accessible to very generous budgets. As someone who lives here year-round, I can assure you that's only part of the story.
Ibiza can be as expensive or as affordable as you want it to be, and in this guide I'm going to give you real figures so you can plan your budget without surprises.
Accommodation: The most important expense
Accommodation is where the budget varies most. Here are the estimated prices in high season (double room per night):
- 3-star hotel (Ibiza City or Sant Antoni): 80β140 β¬
- Tourist apartment for 2 people: 70β120 β¬ (booking in advance)
- Hostel or guesthouse: 40β70 β¬, clean and centrally located rooms
- Hostel with bunk beds: 20β35 β¬ per person
In low season (October to May), all these prices drop by 30 to 50%. For a week in summer, budget between 400 and 1,000 β¬ in accommodation for two people.
Eating and drinking: From set menus to restaurants with views
Estimated prices per person
- Set menu (menΓΊ del dΓa): 12β16 β¬ (first course, main, dessert and drink). The best ones are in neighbourhood bars away from tourist areas
- Dinner at mid-range restaurant: 25β40 β¬ with wine
- Fine dining restaurant: 60β100 β¬ per person
- Coffee with toast: 3β5 β¬
- Beer or soft drink on a terrace: 3β4 β¬
Supermarkets are your best ally if you want to control costs. Mercadona, Eroski and Lidl have prices similar to mainland Spain. Buying breakfast supplies and preparing some meals in your apartment can save you 30β40 β¬ a day easily.
Weekly food budget for two people: between 250 β¬ eating economically up to 700 β¬ eating out every day.
Transport: Getting around the island
- Bus: 2β4 β¬ per journey, around 40β60 β¬/week per person if you use it daily
- Car rental: 30β50 β¬/day in summer, plus around 30 β¬ for petrol for the whole week
- Scooter: 25β40 β¬/day
- Short taxi ride (within the municipality): 8β15 β¬
- Long taxi ride (airport to Sant Antoni): up to 35 β¬
Activities and entertainment
Ibiza's beaches and coves are free, and that's one of the best things about this island. You can spend entire days enjoying the sea without spending a euro.
- Sun lounger with umbrella: 10β20 β¬ per pair
- Boat excursion: 40β80 β¬ per person depending on duration
- Kayak rental: 15β25 β¬/hour
- Nightclub entry: 20β60 β¬ depending on event and day
- Dalt Vila, hippie markets, inland villages: completely free
