About this event
The Cova de Can Marça sits in the cliffs near San Miguel, a 100-metre descent into chambers carved by underground streams over millennia. Your guide walks you through formations lit by theatrical staging, with water features and sound design that shift how the space feels as you move deeper. The cave's recent history as a smuggler's refuge adds another layer—these passages once moved contraband across the island during harder times.
The tour runs year-round in multiple languages, taking around 40 minutes to navigate the main sections. From May through October, groups depart every 30 minutes between 10:30am and 7:30pm; November to April, every 45 minutes from 10:30am to 5:30pm. The walk suits all ages and fitness levels, though the stone can be uneven underfoot.
